JOHN TAYLOR / Principal

Licensed Surveyor, B.App.Sc (Surveying), W.A.I.S.

Since graduating in 1976, John has established a reputation in the south-west for excellence in surveying with his professional advice benefiting many local, state and national organisations. John is a well-rounded surveyor and strategically plans the best approach for each individual project. He is well-versed in town planning, and specialises in completing Strata Surveys on High Rise Buildings.

STEVE HAWKINS / Principal

LICENSED SURVEYOR, B.APP.SC (SURVEYING), W.A.I.S.

Steve has forty years’ experience in all aspects of surveying. He has an honest and pragmatic approach to managing every job and will offer you strategic advice and expert supervision to make sure your project is successful. As a Licensed Surveyor and Principal in the firm, he has helped develop the service ethos of our organisation.

PAUL SKIPPINGS / Principal

Engineering Surveyor

Paul has been with Thompson’s since 1992 and has worked on a broad range of major projects including detail surveys for Main Roads, Major construction surveys, volume surveys for the mining industry, rail and pipeline surveys and feature surveys.

Paul has recently qualified as a Pilot and is responsible for our Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Operations.

LEON KOK / Principal

Licensed Surveyor, BSc Surveying, S.S.S.I, W.A.I.S.

Leon has 28 years surveying experience in Zimbabwe, Botswana, South Africa and Australia. At Thompson, Leon has developed a good working relationship with Main Roads WA and has completed Cadastral boundary surveys, Forrest Highway, Margaret River Bypass.

 

HEATH FISHER / Principal

Licensed Surveyor,Bachelor of Surveying, W.A.I.S.

Heath completed his Degree at Curtin University in 2002 and was registered as a Licensed Surveyor in 2004.

He has expertise in all facets of surveying including Subdivisions, Cadastral, Engineering, Civil, Construction, Structural, Dimensional Control and Project Management. With this knowledge and technical ability, he can ensure success with projects of any size and complexity.

STEVE JOHNSTON / Associate

Senior engineering surveyor, Diploma of Surveying, ESP - AP, SSSI

Steve Completed his Diploma in Engineering Surveying at Durban Technikon in 1980. His 28 years in South Africa includes four years’ of work on an offshore oil rig completing down-hole surveying for the drilling of wells into the gas field and 15 years as a partner in a Land Surveying and Town Planning practice.

Thompson’s offered Steve employment before he Immigrated to Bunbury in 2008. He is a well respected Surveyor within the Construction and Cadastral Fields.

TOBY LLOYD / Licensed Surveyor

The newest member of the Thompson team.  Toby completed his Degree at Curtin University in 2002 and was registered as a Licensed Surveyor in 2005.

Since becoming Licensed, Toby has hone his surveying skills on a variety of projects both local and abroad.  In 2006 he was part of the construction team for the Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 and the London Olympic Site.  His extended knowledge and versatility as a Surveyor, makes him a valuable member of our Team on any Project.

PETER BLAKE / Cartographer

Peter_BlakeDiploma of Cartography & Bachelor of Applied Science (Mathematics), M.S.I.A.

Peter has a Diploma of Cartography and Bachelor of Applied Science (Mathematics) and has been with Thompson’s since 2001. With his eleven years’ experience with Landgate, Peter offers a wealth of knowledge in the legal drafting sector as well as all of our other drafting requirements for Government Departments and developers.

GRANT CALVERT / Engineering Surveyor

Diploma of Surveying

Grant had a successful 15 year career in the United Kingdom before emigrating in 2009 to study Mining and Engineering Surveying at Bunbury TAFE. He joined Thompsons’ in 2010.

Grant has worked on numerous high profile projects in the South West including the Worsley Expansion, Highway Hotel redevelopment and recently worked in Port Hedland on an FMG Rail Project, including maintaining and upgrading site control and completing as constructed surveys.

MALCOLM HAZELDEN / Engineering and Mine Surveyor

Diploma of Surveying

Malcolm completed his Diploma at Bunbury South West Regional College of TAFE in 2011.

Malcolm has gained a proficiency in feature/contour surveys and construction control surveys and the drafting requirements of these. He now looks after our GIS needs.

MICHAEL BIRCH / Engineering Surveyor

Michael completed a Bachelor of Surveying & Bachelor of Commerce (Property) 2012 at Curtin University, Perth, Western Australia. He worked with Thompsons as a Surveying Assistant from 2005 to 2007.

Michael has spent time working in Western Australia’s North West Region and also more recently in Canada. He has accumulated a variety of skills and experience within the surveying industry and we are pleased that he has recently returned to Thompson’s.

REX BARRETT / Survey Technician

Rex2Rex has over 20 years’ experience in the industry and a deep knowledge of many aspects of field surveying. His involvement in mine and engineering surveys includes Worsley Alumina Expansion Project, Bluewater Power Station and Boddington Gold and Bauxite Mines.

He is now part of our team of Survey Technicians and is our Safety Officer.

Rex has recently qualified as a Pilot and is partly responsible for our Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Operations.

CLIFF RANDELL / Surveying Assistant

Cliff2Cliff worked for 10 years as a Survey Assistant in Perth before joining Thompson’s in 1995 and becoming an integral part of our team. Cliff’s experience on any survey project is invaluable.

OUR ADMINISTRATION TEAM

LARISSA MARSDEN / Administrator / Office Manager

Larissa brings a wealth of experience to the company after working for local building companies for many years. As well as finance, Larissa is also our HSEQ Administrator responsible for ensuring all our Quality Assurance standards are met and maintained.

JENNY O'NEILL / Project Administrator

Jenny-ONeill-Profile-PictureJenny assists our Project Managers and Surveyors in all aspects of land development. She helps our clients deal with the Western Australian Planning Commission subdivision requirements, liaising with Government Departments and obtaining quotes and appointing contractors to fulfil conditions.

GINETTA CHIERA / Receptionist / Office Administrator

Ginetta-Chiera-Photo-September-2015Ginetta is the newest member to the Thompson team as our Receptionist and Office Administrator. She brings a youthful exuberance and is the first port of call when contacting our office.

LAURA DYE / Office Clerk

Copy-of-Laura_Portrait3Laura has been with Thompson’s since 2006 commencing in the role of Receptionist / Administration Officer and is a valued long standing team member with a wealth of knowledge. After taking time off to start a family, she has returned in a part-time capacity to assist with the Clerical Duties throughout the office.
