During the design stage, we checked many aspects of the heritage-listed silos’ structure including the verticality and height of the grain storage bins. This information proved critical for the designers in ensuring that the structure would be suitable for the planned development and design of the apartments.
When construction started, we were engaged to provide survey services for the project. One of our roles was to mark out the positions of 108 external and internal windows and doors. The unique challenge was to conduct the set out inside the 8 metre diameter cylinders 3 stories above our position.
We continued onto the next stage of the development which involved the construction of 25 residential apartments and 64 short stay units adjacent to the Silo Apartments.
