We have a long history of working in conjunction with Perkins Builders on some of the South West’s major construction projects. On being awarded the contract to build a new $40 million bulk grain export facility in the Bunbury Port for Bunge Agribusiness, Perkins appointed Thompsons as project surveyors.
The civil works consisted of constructing six silos 23 metres in diameter and 30 metres high (with the capacity to store up to 50,000 tonnes of grain), and associated structures including the concrete elevator pit constructed 4 metres below ground level and the conveyor system to the shiploader.
As with all works we complete, we were able to provide the same high quality of service and critically on this project the same survey crew for its duration ensuring continuity.
This project won the title of Best Civil Engineering Works at the 2014 South West Excellence in Construction Awards.
